Rubber Chemicals Laboratory
In addition to engaging in the process from the design of the chemical structure of unique novel compounds to their synthesis, we assess their basic performance as a rubber material after compounding and research and develop chemicals that enable innovation in the field of rubber products, which includes automobile tires. We are also engaged in production engineering for the global commercialization of developed products.
Main research content
- Development of unique rubber additives to increase the performance of rubber materials
- Research into rubber compounding design for the optimal use of unique rubber additives
- Development of global production engineering technologies for rubber additives
-
Materials Development Laboratory
The Materials Development Laboratory proposes novel solutions for future generations in many different fields through the research and development of inorganic materials, mainly including titanate, and the development of functional resin composites, adeptly combining resins with inorganic materials.
Main research content
- Development of titanate-based inorganic materials
- Development of functional resin composites
- Development of molding and processing technologies
-
Advanced Polymer Laboratory
The Advanced Polymer Laboratory develops applications for TERPLUS, a group of performance polymer products, and commercialization processes for TERPLUS using our original TERP method for living radical polymerization which was jointly developed with Kyoto University's Yamago Group.
Main research content
- Development of Pigment Dispersants
- Development of Adhesives
- Development of new living polymerization polymer products and new applications for them

Technology Development Laboratory
The laboratory became the first in Japan to identify industrial applications for hydrazine hydrate. With this as its core, the laboratory conducts research and development related to many different products such as foaming agents, azoic polymerization initiators, high-purity products for semiconductors and the custom synthesis of different derivatives tailored to customers’ needs. The laboratory also develops processes for APIs and intermediates based on the technology for the development of GCLE, a key intermediate of a cephalometric antibiotic.
Main research content
- Process development for hydrazine derivatives and their commercialization
- Process development for beta-lactam APIs and intermediates and their commercialization
- Development and commercialization of high-purity products
Contract manufacturing
SynCrest Inc., our affiliate, works on outsourced research, development and manufacturing of middle-molecule drugs and outsourced research regarding non-pharmaceutical products (functional chemicals and raw materials for food and cosmetics). The company addresses a wide variety of outsourcing needs. The core of these activities is its one-stop services for CRDMOs encompassing the entire process from raw materials to APIs and from research to manufacturing.
