POTICON is a composite material produced by blending plastics with TISMO

POTICON is an innovative composite material that combines the superior characteristics of TISMO and the characteristics of various kinds of plastics. It makes possible the kind of super-thin-walled and high-precision moldings that were extremely difficult with conventional materials. It can also overcome inferior dimension accuracy, which is considered the biggest weakness of glass and carbon fibers. It also has anti-wear properties.

By adding potassium titanate fiber, a highly refined filler, to thermoplastic resin, reinforcement of minute sections is possible, providing superior dimensional stability. Furthermore, since it has low abrasiveness toward mating members, greaseless operation is possible. It also contributes to cost reductions since it imparts very little damage to molding machines and molds and provides superior recyclability.

POTICON grades can be customized to meet customers’ requirements

POTICON is a thermoplastic resin corresponding to a wide range of requirements: parts requiring microfine characteristics such as LED reflector parts, camera module parts, and watch parts; parts requiring high strength and high slidability such as vehicle bearing parts and switches; and high dielectric constant materials used for MIDs (three-dimensional circuit board molded interconnect devices) and antenna components. We can also supply low linear expansion films having high heat resistance and stiffness and superior bending performance, which are required for flexible substrates etc. We respond to a wide variety of demands by developing materials in accordance with the customers’ requirements.
