In here introduces application example for compatibilizer.

Recently, technology of the polymer alloy mixing various heterogeneous polymers is actively researched as the way for high molecule physical properties improvement. Since Polymer alloy is consisted of existing polymers, properties of new polymers by blending can be expected, that it is remarked applying to use of the automobile and the electric material components etc. In this case, in order to mix the resin with different properties, compatibilizer is used as the additive to improve mixing character.

When new block polymer compatibilizer developed by TERP method is applied, for instance, designing components which has affinity with resin A and resin B makes possible to creating the new polymer alloy.

By designing optimum segment with optimum molecular weight using TERP method for the Alloy resin, the high-level compatibility expressed.

The figures shows test results of compatibility with two different properties of resin.

Effective with Small Addition

Shown in the left figure, it does not compatible with just blending when resin of mixed objects undissolved. Appling TERP method to synthesize the affinity compatibilizer for both resin, it increases the compatibility and minimize the domain size. As a result, the new physical properties improvement is expected which does not emerge with the existing compatilizer.

Compared with the competing items, domain size of TERP compatibilizer synthesized accurately for object resin is minimized.
